Granite City and Texas both punched their playoff tickets on Saturday

Northeast 5 @ Maine 3 - The Northeast Generals picked up a hard earned 5-3 win over the Maine Nordiques Saturday night. Northeast set the tone early by jumping out to an initial 3-0 lead through two of the first three periods of play with goals from  Mason Frary, Ryan Solari and Fransisco Romano. Northeast held the three goal lead until just 3:05 left in the second, when Peyton Dyer notched his second marker of the year for Maine, followed two minutes later by Luke Pomerleau which his 12th of the year as he scored in back to back nights. Ruslan Tuchyn and Aiden Anderson both added goals of their own to pad Northeast’s lead, while Pomerleau’s second of the night provided some effort, but was ultimately not enough for Maine as the Northeast picked up the well-deserved win.

Granite City 6 @ Mason City 2 - The Granite City Lumberjacks picked up a lopsided 6-2 win over the Mason City Toros on Saturday night. Marcus Fritel opened the scoring with his 26th marker of the year midway through the first period. Carter Oothoudt responded by opening his Granite City account to tie the score 1-1 leading into the first intermission. The rest of the game shifted in the favor of  Lumberjacks as they outscored the Toros 5-1 in the latter half of the game. Ty Smith, Parker Comstock, Dominic Thomas and TJ Lepisto found their name on the scoresheet in the dub for Granite City, while Parker McInroy deposited the lone marker of the second half for Mason City. Brooks Currie made a hefty 40 saves on 46 shots for Mason City, while Trent Peterson made a comfortable 13 saves on 15 shots to collect the win for Granite City.

Wausau 1 @ St. Louis 5 - The St. Louis Jr. Blues sang their way to a 5-1 win over the Wausau Cyclones on Saturday night. St. Louis set the tone early and kept their foot on the gas as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead with scores from Joseph LoPiccolo, Carter Duy and Mason Andrew. Easton Plachetka found the back of the net to cut the deficit to a pair of goals for Wausau, but was answered just four minutes later with back-to-back goals from Jack Ruess. Both teams hung a mirrored 33 shots in the affair. Tanner Bonjernoor made 28 saves on 33 shots for Wausau, and Alexander Rivolta was nearly perfect as he made 32 saves on 33 shots to pick up the win for St. Louis.

Texas B 5 @ Tulsa 2 - Joseph Crowley put the team on his back as he picked up a hat truck plus one en route to a four goal performance and a 5-2 win for the Texas Brahmas over the Tulsa Jr Oilers on Saturday nigh. Crowley started the scoring with a goal early in the first period, a score which was answered by Cooper Smolin for Tulsa to end the first period 1-1. Charlie Scott’s third tuck of the year put the Jr. Oilers up by one, but Ryan Glomboske’s third marker of the year tied the score at two a piece. Crowley scored three straight unanswered goals through the end of the game to collect the hat trick for Texas and move to 29 goals on the season. Anderson Weimer collected 46 saves on 51 shots for Tulsa, while Dillion Zimmerman made a breezy 12 saves on 14 shots for Texas.

Long Beach 1 @ Norwich 3 - The Norwich Sea Captains used an eventful first period with three goals to cruise to a 3-1 victory over the Long Beach Sharks on Saturday night. Norwich’s busy first frame saw the Sea Captain's connect on offense for all three goals of the evening in just the first period alone. Scorers were marked by Kolin Krizan, Tony Morran, and Jake Wilkerson with their ninth, sixth and thirteenth scores of the year, respectively. After a physical second period, Sam O’Neil was able to find the back of the net, but his one-time success was not enough as Norwich’s tight defensive prowess was on full display as the Sea Capitains refused to concede more than one goal to pick up the win. Long Beach goaltender Kameron Ragon kept busy as he made 45 saves on 48 shots in the loss, while Norwich stopper Lucas Vellequette made a solid 19 saves on 20 shots to pick up the win.

Alexandria 1 @ Minnesota W 2 - The Minnesota Wilderness picked up a tightly contested 2-1 win over the Alexandria Blizzard on Saturday night. Devon Ward finally found the back of the net as he scored his first goal for Minnesota in 31 games, putting the Wilderness up by one to sustain an early lead. Ward’s early lead was doubled by Jake-Hodd Chlebeck, who scored his 15th marker of the year to take a 2-0 lead for Minnesota to end the second frame. Jack Carter was able to find the back of the net just eight minutes into the third period, but Alexadria’s lone goal proved to be the only answer for the Blizzard as Minnesota shut the game down. Jayden Serene made a respectful 28 saves on 30 shots in the drop for Alexandria, while Pierson Haislet remained nearly perfect with 33 saves on 34 shots in the win for Minnesota.

Peoria 5 @ Willmar 4 (OT) - The Peoria Mustangs picked up a 5-4 overtime nailbiter over the Willmar Warhawks on Saturday night. Both teams consolidated their scoring to scoring in groups in singular periods. Peoria went first as they hopped out to an early 3-0 in the first period alone with goals from Rex Rhodes, Johnny Switzer and Wyatt Duke. Wilmar responded accordingly with a four goal second period of their own, with goals from  Nathan Hinze, Carson Wendorff, Mason Wanka and Keegan Montgomery. Colten Cox deposited his 25th marker of the year in clutch tying fashion in the third period for Peoria. With the score knotted at 4-4, neither side provided an answer and the extra period was forced. After nearly half of the overtime period was gone, Wyatt Duke replicated his earlier success as he found the back of the net once again to take the thrilling overtime win and the extra point for Peroia.

New Hampshire 4 @ New Jersey 3 (OT) - In the first period, Isaac Mansfield scored for the Mountain Kings assisted by Aidan Palmeter. Andrew Chandler increased the lead with help from Noah Levesque and Palmeter. In the second period, Bryce Yates scored assisted by Jacob Landry. Vladimir Zakharov put the Titans on the board with help from Juno Ryu. Dante Debueris scored assisted by Adrian Marek. Marek tied up the game for New Jersey with help from Zachary Gershner. The third period remained scoreless. Isaac Mansfield scored in overtime for the Mountain Kings. Evan Johnston made 25 saves for the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings and Nicolas Gould made 39 saves for the New Jersey Titans.

Rochester 2 @ West Bend 3 (OT) - In the first period, Rochester’s Aiden Emerich scored a goal assisted by Josh Wolf and Noah Gillette. During the second period, Jackson Hoem scored a goal for the West Bend Power assisted by Drew Sparacino and Danny Jurcich. Grizzlies’ Tommy Woods scored assisted by Lennard Habeck and Ben Parent. In the third period, Brody Josselyn scored a goal assisted by Blake Mitchell and Hoem. In overtime, Tommy Kundinger scored a goal winning it for the Power assisted by Jace Fitzgerald and Hoem. Joey Bertram made 24 saves for the Rochester Grizzlies and Adam Prokop made 31 saves for the West Bend Power. 

New Mexico 13 @ Atlanta 2 - In the first period, Carson Gotelaere scored a goal assisted by Issa Murakami for the Ice Wolves. Yosef Pievsky put the Capitals on the board with a goal assisted by Karlis Vancans and Brett Phillips. Dante Hunziker increased the lead for New Mexico assisted by Connor Hanley. Liam Mooney scored assisted by Hunziker. Kyle Mackintosh scored assisted by Murakami. Pievsky scored another goal with assists from Zane Hultquist and Kyle D’Auteuil. New Mexico’s Edward Gregorin scored assisted by Mooney. Evan Scholl scored a goal increasing the lead with an assist from Jacob Kahle. In the second period, Hunziker scored assisted by Mooney. Gotelaere scored with help from Kyle Mackintosh. During the third period, Kahle scored assisted by Calahan Butler. Hunziker scored a goal with help from Murakami. Mackintosh scored assisted by Gotelaere and Will Lazar. Gotelaere scored assisted by Murakami. Tristan Spranger scored a goal with help from Oscar Schneider and Jake Wenner. Jaxon Washburn made 9 saves for the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Cooper Langley made 10 saves and Jackson Black made 16 saves for the Atlanta Capitals.

Helena 4 @ Great Falls 3 (SO) - During the first period, Jason Hammett scored a goal for the Bighorns assisted by Austin Uecker and Finn Theriault. Fisher Hannesson tied up the game for the Americans with an assist from Ty O’Bey and Zac Orwig. In the second period, John Lang scored assisted by Keegan Hanson and Garrett Driscoll. Aiden Kennedy scored a goal assisted by Lang and O’Bey. In the third period, Trey Pareja scored a goal assisted by Caden Fenstein and Colin Becker. Chase Berg scored a goal assisted by Cam Young. No one scored in overtime. Hammett scored a goal in the shootout for the Bighorns. Tyler Miller made 38 saves for the Helena Bighorns and Isaiah Paulnock made 47 saves for the Great Falls Americans.

Badlands 8 @ Gillette 3 - In the first period, the Wild’s Christopher Lang scored a goal assisted by Rocco Corl. Carter Kilen put the Sabres on the board assisted by Kyyan Jahner. Zach Vockler scored a goal by Jahner and Josh Behrends. During the second period, Dawson Wirth scored a goal assisted by Ryan Jordan and Ethan Seanor. Brady Johnson scored for the Wild assisted by Max Arlt and Caleb Johannes. Wirth scored a goal assisted by Dylan Woolstenhulm and Seanor. Gillette’s Riley Schmidt scored a goal assisted by Brady Johnson and Kylo Stinson. Vockler scored with help from Charlie Lorbiecki and Grady Nygaard. Gaven Marx scored assisted by Thayne Coston and Jahner. In the third period, Marx scored with help from Laurence Lundberg and Wirth. Cole Schneider scored with help from Lorbiecki. Lochlin Jackson made 26 saves for the Badlands Sabres. Wylen Cambensy made 23 saves and Karanveer Kooner made 13 saves for the Gillette Wild.

Butte 5 @ Bozeman 6 (SO) - During the first period, Keegan Adams scored a goal for the Irish assisted by Loghan Weber and Bobby Anselmo. TJ Kelsey scored for the Icedogs with help from Wes Weisenberger and Sam Trufant. Easton Langemo scored for Butte assisted by Weber and Nicolas Ulyanov. Spencer Wilkinson tied up the game assisted by Michael Reich. In the second period, Trufant scored assisted by Kelsey. Adams scored with help from Malloy Lomheim. During the third period, Devin Bruns scored a goal assisted by Lex Steckelberg and Andrew Kaunas. Steckelberg scored assisted by Devin Bruns and Brett DeVincent. Langemo scored a goal with help from Weber. Anselmo scored a goal assisted by Andrew Browe and Langemo. No one scored in overtime. Dan Upton scored for the Bozeman Icedogs in the shoutout. Nicolas Ulyanov made 38 saves for the Butte Irish and Brett DeVincent made 36 saves for the Bozeman Icedogs.
