The Texas RoadRunners and Louisiana Drillers of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Carson Spear has committed to play ACHA DI hockey for the University of Oklahoma.
Spear, 20, has spent two seasons playing in the NA3HL, appearing in 63 games thus far with the Texas RoadRunners of the South Division. Throughout his time in College Station, the 6'3" forward has made a significant impact, averaging just over a point per game. His best stretch of games so far this season came back in September as he kicked off the season with a whopping 11 points over the course of three games against Atlanta.
Taking a look back at the 2023-24 season, Spear was the team’s second overall leading scorer, earning himself a spot in the 2024 Top Prospects event.
Prior to starting his junior career, Spear spent time developing in the NAPHL, playing three seasons for the Texas Tigers at the 16U and 18U levels.
Starting the weekend of February 7, 2025, Spear will play his first games with the Louisiana Drillers as Chris Francis and his team hope to make another deep run in the 2025 Fraser Cup Playoffs.
