Atlanta 1 @ New Mexico 10 - The Atlanta Capitals fell behind the New Mexico Ice Wolves in the first period of Saturday’s game. They headed into the first period trailing 2-1. Things weren’t going well, as they had managed only four shots on goal. However, all Atlanta needed was one goal. This was not an insurmountable lead. Unfortunately for them, the lead quickly became too much to handle. The Ice Wolves rode a six-goal third period to skate away with a 10-1 victory on home ice over the visiting Capitals.
Long Beach 1 @ Binghamton 4 - The Binghamton Buzz peppered the Long Beach Sharks with shots on goal during Saturday’s contest. In fact, they finished each period with at least 20 shots on goal in that frame. Perhaps the Buzz could have won this game in more decisive fashion as a result. In any event, Binghamton took care of business on Saturday with a 4-1 win. Forward Daniel Triendi made a difference, scoring a goal and adding two assists in the win.
Sheridan 5 @ Gillette 3 - The Sheridan Hawks and Gillette Wild engaged in a bit of a shootout on Saturday night. Both teams record double-digit shots in each of the three regulation periods. Elijah White recorded two assists as Sheridan saw five different goal scorers lead them to a 5-3 win.
Great Falls 3 @ Bozeman 5 - The Bozeman Icedogs were outshot in the first period 18-15. It’s not the best showing on home ice, though the game was tied heading into the locker room. The Icedogs ensured the Great Falls Americans never had that kind of shot volume again. The Americans managed just nine shots on goal the rest of the way as the Icedogs claimed a 5-3 victory. Bodie Shepardson led the way with two goals for Bozeman on Saturday.
Helena 3 @ Butte 0 - The Helena Bighorns may have been the visiting team on Saturday when they faced the Butte Irish. However, they made sure the crowd was not a factor. Helena threw nearly 60 shots on goal during this contest. And they were able to hold the hosting Irish without a goal. Bighorns goalie Branson Appelman all 22 shots he faced to lead his club to a 3-0 victory away from home.
