The Willmar WarHawks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Captain Nathan Hinze has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for the newly established program at Beloit College.

Hinze, a 20-year-old winger from Chaska, MN, standing at 6'1.5" and weighing 175 lbs, is wrapping up his second season with the Willmar WarHawks as they head into their playoff run later this week. He has played 79 games to date with the WarHawks, tallying 62 points (15 goals, 47 assists). His best game of the 2024-25 season came on January 17th as the WarHawks faced off with the Toros. During this contest, the Captain dished out three assists in addition to scoring the game winning goal.

As a prominent member of the Willmar’s squad, Hinze was selected to represent their organization at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament which was held at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI.

“Playing for the WarHawks has been an amazing experience for me. The last two years have given me many memories that I will never forget. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to play college hockey at Beloit. I would like to thank my friends, family, teammates, coaches and fans. Everyone I have met playing hockey has only helped me become a better person and hockey player. Willmar has only been a positive impact for me and I wouldn’t change the last two years.” Hinze said about his time here with the WarHawks.

“Incredibly happy and excited for Hinze and his commitment to play NCAA D3 hockey for Beloit College,” Head Coach and GM Payton Ruter said. “He’s a captain and leader for a reason; he does everything right on and off the ice. All of his countless hours of hard work, determination and passion has given him a chance to continue his hockey dreams. Extremely proud of Nathan.”

The WarHawks congratulate Nathan on his college commitment to Beloit College and wish him all the best as his hockey career continues to move forward!
