Granite City, Louisiana and New Mexico qualified for the Fraser Cup

New Mexico 1 @ Louisiana 2 (Louisiana wins series 2-0): In a very defensive game, Max Workman would get his team out in front on the powerplay, This lead would stand for the rest of the period, but in the second, Calahan Butler would score to tie the game. This game would go back in forth, but in the third period, Jackson Lord scored to take the lead for the Drillers, and this would stand as the game-winning goal. Cole Schmidt would pick up the win, along with making 24 saves in the process.

Granite City 4 @ Minnesota M 2 (Granite City wins series 2-0): Fans of the Granite City Lumberjacks won’t get to watch their team Sunday after they took the West Division Finals against the Minnesota Moose. The Lumberjacks took the 1-0 lead from Connor Miller, who was followed 44 seconds later by Patty Dunaiski who was following up a hat trick Friday evening. Ryan Andor made sure the Moose didn’t leave the first period scoreless with a goal 14:30 in the period. The Lumberjacks struck first in the second period too, with Seth Terhell giving them a multi-goal lead again, but Brady Johnson brought the Moose back within one once more 30 seconds after. Dominic Thomas in the final seconds of the second half scored the last goal of the game, as the Lumberjacks held strong in the third period to send them to the Fraser Cup Championship Tournament next week.

West Bend 3 @ Rochester 2 (OT) (Series Tied 1-1): 60 minutes would not be enough, but Danny Jurcich would be the overtime hero for the West Bend Power in Game 2 of the Central Division finals, defeating the Rochester Grizzlies by a final of 3-2. Teams would trade goals in the first, Jackson Hoem opening the scoring for West Bend, before Josh Wolf buried the equalizer just two minutes later. The lone goal of the middle frame belonged to the Grizzlies, coming from Mason Decker. Late in the third, the Power were fighting for an equalizer to send the game to overtime, and with just over five minutes left, Brody Josselyn would be the equalizer, sending the game to overtime, where three minutes would be all it took for Jurcich to catch a centering pass from Hoem, and he beat Rochester netminder Joey Bertram to send the Central Division finals to a winner takes all Game 3 Sunday night in West Bend.
