Lumberjacks forward Thomas makes NCAA Commitment

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Dom Thomas has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Hamline University.
Thomas, 21, is a seasoned NA3HL veteran with three years of experience between the Mason City Toros and the Granite City Lumberjacks. In 92 junior games, the Hermantown, MN native tallied an impressive 105 points (45 goals, 60 assists), averaging more than a point per game.
After departing Granite City in 2023, Thomas returned at this season's trade deadline and wasted no time making an impact. He registered at least one point in 12 of his 13 regular season games, including three three-point outings and a four-point performance in just his second game back with the Lumberjacks.
The ’04-born forward carried that momentum into the postseason, recording a point in all six Fraser Cup Playoff games. He was especially dominant in the West Division Finals against the Minnesota Moose, posting seven points in the series, including four assists and the game-winning goal in game one.
“Getting Dom back and having him finish his junior hockey career with us is a true full circle situation. We really missed him when he left and were thrilled to get him back. I’m excited to continue watching him grow and I know he will be successful at the next level,” stated Jacks’ Head Coach DJ Vold.
Thomas is one of two players from the Lumberjacks to make a college commitment this season.
