Sharks Assistant Captain Kozma makes college commitment

May 27, 2025

The Long Beach Sharks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Assistant Captain Colton Kozma has committed to play college hockey for Western Michigan.

Kozma, 20, recently concluded his junior hockey career after spending two seasons in the NA3HL with the Long Beach Sharks under Head Coach Jeff Tory. The St. Louis, MO native patrolled the blue line in 86 games, recording 25 points (7 goals, 18 assists).

Kozma made an immediate impact during his rookie campaign, finding the back of the net in back-to-back games against a strong Northeast Generals squad. In the 2024–25 season, he took on a leadership role with the Sharks and surpassed his previous point total. One of his standout performances came on December 8, when he dished out three assists, including the primary helper on the game-winning goal in a key win over the Maine Nordiques.

As a respected veteran of the Sharks organization, he was selected to represent the team at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament in Plymouth, MI.

Kozma is one of four players to make a college commitment this season from the Sharks.
