Rhinos forward Gutierrez makes college commitment

The New Mexico Ice Wolves of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Joseph Gutierrez has committed to play college hockey for the University of New Mexico.
Gutierrez, 20, concluded his junior hockey career as a second-year player with the El Paso Rhinos. Over the course of 94 games with the team, the Arvada, Colorado native came just shy of averaging a point per game, tallying 93 points (36 goals and 57 assists).
One of his standout performances during the 2024-25 season came on March 7 against the Tulsa Jr. Oilers. In El Paso’s 5-1 victory, Gutierrez delivered a dominant four-point effort, netting two goals and adding two assists, including the game-winning goal.
Finishing the season with 38 points, he led the Rhinos in scoring and earned a spot at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. While competing in Plymouth, MI, he impressed with three goals across two games.
Gutierrez is one of four players to make a college commitment this season from the Rhinos.
