Rhinos defenseman Renaldo makes NCAA Commitment

The El Paso Rhinos of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Austin Renaldo has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for the newly established program at Hiram College.
Renaldo, 20, is a familiar face in both the NA3HL and the El Paso community, having spent his entire junior hockey career with the Rhinos. Over three seasons on the blue line, the Clermont, Florida native appeared in 133 games, tallying 20 points (3 goals, 17 assists). Two standout performances from the 2023–24 season highlight his impact. The first came in a mid-November matchup against the Austin Ice Bats, where he delivered three assists to help lead the Rhinos to victory. The second came in the final regular season game, where he capped off the year with a power-play goal and an assist, finishing the season on a high note.
“Austin is a meat and potatoes kind of player. You know what you’re going to get night in and night out. During the 2023-2024 season, he naturally stepped into a leadership role and truly embraced it. He became a dependable presence for our younger defensemen to learn from. Austin worked hard to earn his spot at Hiram College, and as a coaching staff, we couldn’t be more proud to see him continue his hockey career while pursuing his education,” said Rhinos Coach Alec Sherman.
Renaldo is one of four players from the Rhinos to make a college commitment this season and will join teammate Liam McCall on Hiram’s campus in the fall.
