Badlands forward Coston makes college commitment

The Badlands Sabres of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Thayne Coston has committed to play college hockey for North Dakota State University.
Coston, 20, spent both seasons of his junior hockey career with the Badlands Sabres in Rapid City, SD. Over 88 games, the Crosby, ND native tallied 52 points, including 27 goals and 25 assists. The '04 forward showed marked improvement in his second year with the team, more than doubling his point production from his rookie season.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Coston posted a standout seven-game stretch in which he registered at least one point in six contests. He found the back of the net in all but one of those games, including a game-winning goal on January 17th in a 6-3 victory over the Butte Irish.
Another highlight came in the final game of the regular season, when Coston delivered a stellar three-point performance. In the Sabres’ 5-0 win over the Sheridan Hawks, he scored a goal and contributed two assists, wrapping up the regular season on a high note before heading into the postseason.
Coston is one of three players from the Sabres to make a college commitment this season.
