The Northeast Generals, members of the North American 3 Hockey League, are excited to announce that Captain Mason Frary has committed to play NCAA hockey at SUNY-Potsdam.
The 3 year General from North Lawrence, NY will be able to stay close to home for the next step in his on and off ice development. “I am so proud of Mason. Such an amazing young man and leader. He did a great job for us and got better every year. He is the epitome of what it means to be a Northeast General, he left it all on the ice every single time he stepped on the ice. This commitment is the culmination of countless hours of hard work by Mason. I am so excited for Mason and his family. Potsdam is getting another great General,” said Head Coach Darryl Locke.
Over his three seasons with the Northeast Generals, Mason appeared in 124 games, fifth-most in team history, while tallying 24 goals, 57 assists, and 81 total points. In the 2024–25 season alone, he racked up 30 points, placing him among the team's top four scorers. Two standout performances include a dominant four-assist outing against the Long Beach Sharks, where Frary showcased his elite playmaking ability. Another memorable game came in a 5–3 win over the Maine Nordiques, where he contributed one goal and two assists to lead the offense.
As a longtime General and a highly respected figure within the organization, Mason was honored with a selection to represent the Northeast Generals at the 2025 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament.
“Mason also played 2 games for the NAHL Generals and did an excellent job throughout his junior career of taking advantage of our ladder of development. Mason is the best. So excited for him and his commitment. Just an amazing young man that gets to stay close to home and get a great education and play the game he loves. Mason is everything we want when kids come here. We want them to buy in and leave it all on the ice. Mason did that. He played all 5 positions as he was the first one to raise his hand to fill in anytime we had an injury. He sacrificed personal accomplishments for the good of the organization at every step. We can’t wait to watch Mason continue on his journey,” said Generals General Manager Coach Bryan Erikson.
