The Wausau Cyclones of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Assistant Captain Landon Bechtolt has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for King’s College.
Bechtolt, 21, concluded his junior hockey career with the Wausau Cyclones, appearing in 49 games for the Central Division team. The Centerville, OH native delivered a standout 2024-25 season, averaging a point per game with 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists). A consistent offensive threat, Bechtolt recorded multi-point performances in 15 games, ranked among the Cyclones’ top four scorers, and finished second on the team in both power play goals and game-winning goals.
One of his most memorable performances came on January 25 in a heated matchup against division rival Wisconsin Woodsmen. In the Cyclones’ 4-3 win, Bechtolt notched two goals, including the decisive game-winner, and added an assist to cap off one of his seven three-point outings of the season.
“Our entire organization is extremely proud of Landon. From day one he showed up and played with purpose and passion and he was an absolute pleasure to coach. He was a leader for us in Wausau on and off the ice and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him,” stated Cyclones’ Head Coach Nathan Oystrick.
He is the second player from the Cyclones to make a college commitment this season.
