Moose defenseman Knight makes NCAA Commitment

The Minnesota Moose of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Sam Knight has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Castleton University.
Knight, 21, is no stranger to the NA3HL, having developed in the league over three seasons before earning his college commitment. The Madison, WI native appeared in 126 games split between the Oregon Tradesmen and, most recently, the Minnesota Moose during the 2024-25 season. Over his NA3HL career, he totaled 71 points (22 goals, 49 assists).
As a veteran presence for the Moose in their inaugural season, Knight played a pivotal role in the team’s success. His standout performance came on November 29, 2024, when he scored twice to lead Minnesota to a 5-0 shutout win over the Minnesota Wilderness.
Leading all Moose defensemen in scoring, Knight was selected to compete in the 2025 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he notched an assist for Team Blue.
"Sam Knight was a polarizing player for the Minnesota Moose. He solidified our D corps and added to the offensive capabilities of our team. His confidence and desire to win made him a staple in the lineup. Castleton University is getting a leader and a great locker room guy," stated Head Coach Todd Sanden.
Knight is one of eight players to make a college commitment this season from the Moose.
