Woodsmen Assistant Captain Deinema makes college commitment

The Wisconsin Woodsmen of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Assistant Captain Hugh Deinema has committed to play college hockey for the University of Utah.
Deinema, 20, was a standout for the Wisconsin Woodsmen, leading the team in scoring during both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Over his two-year NA3HL career in Wisconsin, he established himself as the program’s all-time points leader, recording 112 points (56 goals, 56 assists) in 95 games, averaging more than a point per game.
In the 2024-25 campaign, Deinema posted multiple points in 13 games, including two four-point performances. One of his most memorable outings came on December 28th, when he tallied a hat trick and an assist to help lead the Woodsmen to a win over the Peoria Mustangs.
His consistent production earned him a spot at the 2025 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he represented the Woodsmen on Team White. He contributed a goal and an assist over two games in the event.
Before his junior hockey career, Deinema played 18U hockey in the NAPHL with Omaha Mastery, appearing in 12 games.
He is one of four Woodsmen players to make a college commitment this season.
