Drillers forward Johnson makes NCAA Commitment

The Louisiana Drillers of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Brendan Johnson has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Misericordia University.
Johnson, 21, is headed to Pennsylvania to continue his hockey journey with Misericordia University in the second year of their NCAA program. The Seattle, WA native spent two seasons in the NA3HL, skating for the Louisiana Drillers, where he tallied 108 points (49 goals, 59 assists) over 109 career games, finishing with a +60 plus-minus.
A consistent offensive threat, Johnson ranked among the team’s top five scorers in both seasons and recorded multiple points in a game 29 times. He carried momentum from the previous season into an impressive eight-game point streak from late September to early November, racking up 13 points, including three game-winning goals. One standout performance during this stretch was a three-point outing against the Atlanta Capitals, marking one of his best games of his age-out season.
Johnson capped his junior career by appearing in seven Fraser Cup Playoff games, helping the Drillers capture the 2025 Fraser Cup, the first in program history.
On Johnson’s commitment, Head Coach Chris Francis shared his excitement:
“I'm extremely proud of Brendan! His dedication, work ethic, and leadership have made a huge impact on our team, and I know he'll continue to succeed at the next level. This is a well-deserved opportunity, and I'm excited to watch him keep growing as both a player and a person.”
Johnson is one of five players from the Drillers to make a college commitment this season.
