The Wausau Cyclones of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Thomas Gerum has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Salve Regina University.
Gerum, 21, spent two seasons in the NA3HL, skating with the Granite City Lumberjacks before joining the Wausau Cyclones. Across 83 career games, the future Seahawk proved to be a consistent offensive force, producing 86 points (34 goals, 52 assists), as an over a point per game player.
The Cyclones acquired Gerum at the trade deadline, and his arrival immediately bolstered their postseason push. In 12 games with the Central Division squad, he registered points in nine contests and delivered a statement performance against the Peoria Mustangs, racking up back-to-back four-point nights.
Thanks to his steady production and impact on both rosters, Gerum earned a spot in the 2025 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he suited up for Team White.
“The entire Wausau Cyclones organization is extremely proud of Thomas for his recent commitment to Salve Regina University. Thomas was only with us for a short while, after a trade deadline move with Granite City, but he was an absolute pleasure to coach and be around,” stated Wausau Head Coach Nathan Oystrick. “He brought a ton of energy, leadership, and experience to our locker room while playing big minutes in big situations. We look forward to watching his continued growth at the next level and are excited to see what he can accomplish. Best wishes to Thomas as he starts this exciting new chapter."
He is one of three players from the Cyclones to make a college commitment this season.
