Texas B 8 @ Tulsa 1 - The Texas Brahmas kept its perfect season intact Sunday afternoon, led by a hat-trick performance from Nicholas Catalano to easily take care of the Tulsa Oilers by a final score of 8-1. The win stretched Texas’ season-opening winning streak to 10 games, good for second place in the south division with 20 points – just one point behind first-place Austin with seven games in hand. Texas scored early and scored often. Catalano’s fifth and John Scharf’s sixth goals of the season got the Brahmas out to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Scharf’s goal was the first of four power-play goals for Texas. Aleksander Jelisejevs wasted no time to begin the second period, potting another power-play marker for his third of the campaign just over a minute into the frame. Just under a minute after Jelisejevs’ tally, Jason Fatta notched a power-play goal of his own to put Texas up 4-0 early in the second period. Texas’ Charlie Wilson and Benjamin Humphreys each nabbed their third goals of the season, while Tulsa’s Carter Kelley notched his first of the year to bring the score to a lopsided 6-1 heading to the final frame. Catalano finished off the hat-trick with two more power-play markers – his sixth and seventh of the year – in the third period to seal the blowout victory for the Brahmas. Texas controlled the entire game, sending 46 shots on Tulsa goaltender Jack Salverson to the Oilers’ 19 shots.

Austin 5 @ El Paso 4 - A furious four-goal third period propelled the Austin Ice Bats to a thrilling 5-4, come-from-behind victory Sunday afternoon over the El Paso Rhinos. Two power-play markers and a late goal from Jared Breunig in the final seven minutes pushed south-division leading Austin to the miraculous comeback, snapping a four-game skid. Carter Tuplin put the Rhinos ahead just under two minutes into the game with his sixth goal of the campaign. A power-play goal by Jax Edgerton knotted the game at one apiece just over four minutes later. Edgerson’s goal was his second of the season. El Paso responded just over three minutes later, grabbing the lead back thanks to an unassisted goal from Kenneth Cadwalladar – his fourth of the year – to send El Paso to the break leading 2-1. The only offense of the middle frame came courtesy of Cadwalladar just 29 seconds after the puck dropped. El Paso outshot Austin 15-5 in the period but mustered just one goal thanks to Ice Bats goaltender Michael Lane. The ferocious comeback began when Austin’s Garrett Morris’ first goal of the year got his team back within a goal just over four minutes into the final period. Donovan Bradford put a temporary blemish on the comeback by notching his fifth of the season with just under 10 minutes to go. With El Paso leading 4-2, Mason Manderfield and Georgii Tokarski took advantage of a five-on-three power play, scoring just 14 second apart to tie the game at 4-4 with 7:02 to play. The goals were both Manderfield and Tokarski’s second of the season. Breunig iced the comeback with his fifth goal of the season with just 2:09 remaining to give Austin the 5-4 win.
