Saturday Scores: West Bend Powers 4-2 Victory

Long Beach 5 @ New Hampshire 0 - The Long Beach Sharks continued their road slate up north to rematch the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings, where they shut out the home team five-nothing and picked up their second-straight win over the club. Will Zinnen made another excellent start in net for the Sharks, but did not face as many shots as you would expect. He stopped all 14 shots that came his way from the full 60-minute slate. In the first period, Eli McCarthy started things off by lighting the lamp unassisted. Then, for the middle frame, the Sharks grabbed a hat-trick worth of goals. Sean Bailey opened the second by making it two-nothing from a single playmaker by James Steinberg. Ten minutes later, Spencer Nicoloff sent the biscuit flying past Jacob Sorensen after he was set up by Alec Dahlvang. And before the second buzzer sounded, Steinberg racked up his second point of the game by scoring empty-handed. To cap off the game and the third, Nicoloff grabbed his second of the night to seal the deal, after he was fed the puck by Jack Baker. The Sharks concluded this week with back-to-back wins over New Hampshire. They will continue to play on the road for next week, as they face the Maine Nordiques on November 12, 2025.
Bayou State 3 @ Texas R 5 - The Texas RoadRunners continue to be a force to be reckoned with as they climb higher in the standings. Yesterday afternoon, they hosted the Bayou State Rougarou, a team 1-15 in the standings, and narrowly defeated them 5-3 and recorded win number 20 of the season. The RoadRunners started things off in the first period, when Nathan Pickett opened the scoring from a primary playmaker by Cayson Ash-Hendricks. Moments later, however, Landen Crall answered for the Rougarou by tying it up. But minutes later, Joe Izzo responded and returned the lead again for the RoadRunners. However, the same dynamic continued again, as another Rougarou player scored empty-handed and tied it up. Ethan Tierman would be crowned with the goal, and his tie response would continue until early in the third. In the third, another player would score and break the tie unassisted, as Lucas Dyer for the RoadRunners grabbed the go-ahead lead. Minutes into the frame, Michael Garrett extended the lead to two when Jayden Hitt assisted. At the five-minute mark, Hitt grabbed a goal for himself to make it 5-2. But shortly after, the Rougarou responded with their final goal of the game, as Tierman created a lane for Nathan Daniels to make it 5-3.
Wausau 3 @ Rochester 2 - The Wausau Cyclones took on the home team, Rochester Grizzlies, yesterday afternoon, where they won 3-2. In the first period, the Grizzlies opened the scoring when Rylan Schultz sniped one in from a feed by Dominic Arndt. Then, less than a minute later, Brady Knutsen for the Cyclones responded to extend the tie into the second. For the second, Brandon Piwko scored the go-ahead goal, as the Cyclones maintained that lead heading into the final frame. Eight minutes into the third, Jackson Schroeder extended the lead to two by making it 3-2 when he was set up by Joel Anderson. About two minutes after Schroeder’s insurance setup, the Grizzlies responded to put them within one of tying the score. Arndt and Brett Ludvigsen cycled for Alex Arenson to bury one past Tanner Bonjernoor. However, the effort would not advance further to tie the score, as the Cyclones protected their narrow lead and took the game 3-2.
New Jersey 2 @ Norwich 3 (SO) - The Norwich Sea Captains escaped with a shootout victory Saturday night, edging the New Jersey Titans 3-2 in a tightly contested matchup. The game was a back-and-forth battle that came down to capitalizing on key opportunities. New Jersey opened the scoring in the first period when Ivan Korshikov found the back of the net to give the Titans a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later, Trenton Impens responded for Norwich, tying the game on assists from Kolin Krizan and Ryan Janik. Despite plenty of chances in the second period, neither team could break the deadlock, sending the game into the third tied 1-1. Early in the final frame, Houston Friesen put Norwich ahead 2-1, forcing New Jersey to push back. Korshikov answered for the Titans midway through the period, netting his second of the night off assists from Yosef Pievsky and Junsang Park to make it 2-2. The score held through regulation and overtime, setting up a shootout. In the tiebreaker, Henry Pinkerman converted the decisive goal to secure the win and complete the weekend sweep for the Sea Captains. Goaltender Peter Alfano was stellar in net for Norwich, stopping 45 shots to earn the victory. For New Jersey, Syed Nad-E-Ali turned aside 34 shots in a strong effort, but it wasn’t enough in this goaltender’s duel. With the win, Norwich completed a weekend sweep over the Titans, while New Jersey continues to search for consistency in the win column.
Granite City 6 @ Mason City 4 - The Granite City Lumberjacks pulled out a hard-fought victory Saturday night in a tightly contested matchup against the Mason City Toros, remaining perfect on the season. Offense was the theme of the night, with the teams combining for 10 goals in a high-scoring shootout. Mason City struck first, as Stone Resch opened the scoring off passes from Kellen Kantaris and Luke Gustafson. Granite City answered later in the first when Ty Smith tied the game at 1-1, assisted by Coltin Wassengeso and Garrett Plaude. The Toros regained the lead before intermission, as Kantaris buried one with helpers from Gustafson and Andrew Sysko, giving Mason City a 2-1 advantage after one. The second period was an offensive explosion, featuring five combined goals. Grant Harder extended the Toros’ lead early, assisted by Christian Plaga and Michael Ertle. Less than a minute later, Teagan Dodge responded for Granite City off a feed from Micah Saxon to make it 3-2. Sysko then restored the two-goal cushion for Mason City with help from Kantaris and Jason Williams. Granite City continued to battle back, as Smith notched his second of the night—assisted by Eli Tiernan and Wassengeso—before Easton Sankey tied the game late in the period off a setup from Manny Pearce. The teams entered the third deadlocked at 4-4. In the final frame, the Lumberjacks took control. Tiernan gave Granite City its first lead of the game, and Saxon added insurance shortly after, assisted by Dodge, to seal the 6-4 win. Goaltender Jannes Kamp stopped 23 shots to stay perfect on the season, while Mason City’s Ty Tanton turned aside 33 in a strong effort. Granite City continues its dominant run, still undefeated and looking nearly unstoppable to start the year.
Tulsa 2 @ Austin 4 - The Austin Ice Bats secured a 4-2 home victory Saturday night over the Tulsa Oilers. Arys Perardi carried his momentum from Friday’s game and opened the scoring for Austin, assisted by Guhnar Hillman and Jake Bamback. Late in the first period, Mason Manderfield doubled the lead with help from Owen Rattray and Aiden Deluna, giving the Ice Bats a 2-0 advantage heading into intermission. Tulsa answered back in the second period, as Rodion Dubrovin buried a goal to cut the deficit in half and make it 2-1 heading into the third. Early in the final frame, Austin found a response. Deluna extended the lead back to two with assists from Jared Breunig and Bamback. Tulsa fought back once more when Chase Boswell scored a shorthanded goal to bring the Oilers within one, but Austin sealed the win late as Bamback netted an empty-netter off a feed from Deluna. With the victory, the Ice Bats completed a weekend sweep of the Oilers, showcasing their offensive firepower. Despite the loss, Tulsa put forth a strong effort, yet continues to push for that elusive win.
St. Louis 3 @ Willmar 4 - The Willmar Warhawks secured a dramatic comeback victory Saturday night at home against the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Despite trailing 3-0 early, Willmar battled back to earn the win over a skilled Jr. Blues squad. St. Louis opened the scoring just 13 seconds into the game, as Rece Sanderson found the back of the net off assists from Jack Reuss and Brady Cook. Later in the first period, Jack Plager extended the lead to two, with helpers from Mitchell Nappier and Jace Jordan. August Feldker added another before intermission, assisted by Chase Kozma and Jordan, giving the Jr. Blues a commanding 3-0 advantage after one. Willmar mounted its comeback in the second period. Midway through the frame, Maddux Domagala put the Warhawks on the board, assisted by Timothy Vaculik. A few minutes later, Carson Wendorff cut the deficit to one with help from Gabe Adams and Owen Amon, sending the game into the third at 3-2. The Warhawks carried their momentum into the final period. Early on, Elliot Domagala tied the game, with Aidan Callaghan recording the assist. Less than a minute later, Wendorff struck again on the power play, converting passes from Callaghan and Dylan Mees to give Willmar its first lead of the night. The Warhawks' defense and goaltender Jacob Brumm held strong the rest of the way, with Brumm stopping 19 shots to seal the comeback win. For St. Louis, Aaron Sibert turned aside 38 shots in a valiant effort. With the victory, Willmar earned its fourth win of the season in thrilling fashion, while the Jr. Blues, despite the loss, remain one of the top teams in the league.
Minnesota W 1 @ Minnesota M 3 - The Minnesota Wilderness took on an in-state rival in the Minnesota Moose. The Moose would start the scoring with a goal from Mark Denoyer, with Luca Salak as the assist. The next goal would not come until the second period, which was also scored by the Moose. Charlie Marchand is putting one in, assisted by Caleb Schwark. The Wilderness would then answer with a power-play goal from Neil Elsmore, Teddy Feng with the assist. The Moose would strike back with an unassisted goal from Hunter Rappel. The final period would go scoreless to secure the win for the Moose. The Minnesota Moose take down the Minnesota Wilderness 3-1.
El Paso 5 @ West Texas 3 - The El Paso Rhinos went on the road to take on the West Texas Wranglers. The Wranglers would take an early lead with a goal from Justin Fielden, William Andegren with the assist. The Rhinos would answer back with a power-play goal from Carter Tuplin. Then another, just 14 seconds later, from Nick Nunez, Andre Valenzuela with the assist. Just 15 seconds later, they would score another power-play goal, this time from Jaxon McKnight, assisted by Huero Rivera. In the second period, the Wranglers would answer with a power-play goal of their own, Cutter Daniel scoring being assisted by Gunnar Vick and Nathan Zane. In the final period, the Rhinos would score another power-play goal, Carter Tuplin scoring his second goal, with Kenneth Cadwallader and Britton Oldham with the assist. Then Carter Tuplin would score his third goal, completing his hat trick, with Kenneth Cadwallader once again with the assist. With less than a minute left, Nathan Zane would score his second goal for the Wranglers. The Rhinos beat the Wranglers 5-3.
Peoria 1 @ Wisconsin 9 - The Peoria Mustangs went on the road to take on the Wisconsin Woodsmen. The Woodsmen would score quickly with a goal from Ty Paulios, Josh Kauppinen, and Nolan Mix with the assist. Just 30 seconds later, Nolan Mix would score his own goal, Josh Kauppinen once again with the assist. In the second period, the Woodsmen would continue to score, with Bryce Bechen scoring, Parker Holloway and Maxim Lazo with the assist. Then Ty Paulios would score his second, with Anthony Moorehead as the assist. The Woodsmen would score again with a power-play goal from Tyler Osborne, Patrick Bowser, and Brandon Slasor with the assist. To finish the second period, they would score again with a goal from Maxim Lazo, Bryce Bechen with the assist. To start the final period, the Woodsmen would keep the avalanche coming, Cole Schreiber scoring, Patrick Bowser and Tyler Osborne on the assist. Then Ty Paulios would get his hat trick with a goal assisted by Brodie Mich. Once again on the power play, the Woodsmen scored again, Josh Kauppinen scoring, assisted by Brodie Mich and Ty Paulios. The Mustangs would get on the board to finish the game, Brendon Miller scoring with Nathan Pleva on the assist.
Alexandria 2 @ West Bend 4 - The Alexandria Blizzard took a trip to challenge the West Bend Power. The Power would strike first with a goal from Elias Holan, Brody Josselyn, and Andrew Burny. Before the end of the first period, the Power would score again, Danny Jurcich scoring, Brody Josselyn, and Otis Berge with the assist. In the second period, the Power would score again, this time on the power play. Jace Fitzgerald puts one in the back of the net with an assist from Jackson Hoem and Blake Kohnen. Finally, the Blizzard would answer with a power-play goal of their own, Reece Humber scoring, Jack Johnson and Kaden Roness with the assist. The Blizzard would score again, making it a one-point game. Tyler Meyer puts one in with an assist from Reece Hubmer and Grady Stallman. The Power would answer back with a goal from Blake Kohnen, assisted by Brody Josselyn, his third of the game, and Andrew Burny, his second of the game. The third period would go scoreless, leading to a Power win over the Blizzard 4-2.
Butte 2 @ Yellowstone 6 - The Yellowstone Quake hosted the Butte Irish again on Saturday night. The Irish looked to sweep the weekend while the Quake looked to get revenge on the Irish. The Quake would prove to be successful, coming away with a 6-2 victory after a physical game. The Quake struck first, five minutes in on a goal by Jordan Murray. The Quake would score again with two minutes left to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. In the second, the Irish would strike back with seven minutes left on a goal by Jack Whitelaw. The Quake would respond 15 seconds later with a goal by Shayne Smith and three minutes later with Smith finding the net again for a 4-1 lead into the third. Smith found the net again for the Quake at 14:33 in the third, completing the hat trick. The Irish would answer back a few minutes later with a goal by Easton Langemo. The Quake would add to their lead with seven minutes left in the game on a goal by Chase Bryson for a 6-2 win on home ice.
Great Falls 1 @ Sheridan 3 - The Sheridan Hawks hosted the Great Falls Americans on Saturday night. After the Americans won on Friday, the home Hawks looked to bounce back and get a win in front of their fans. The first period was all Hawks as they scored two goals by Elijah White and Vincent Leaf to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. In the second, Gavin Denis got the Americans on the board with three minutes left in the middle frame. The Hawks would maintain their 2-1 lead into the third. In the third, there would be no scoring until 55 seconds left in the game when Dante Hunziker would add an insurance goal for the Hawks. The Hawks secured the 3-1 win on home ice, splitting the series with the Great Falls Americans.
Gillette 0 @ Bozeman 7 - The Bozeman Icedogs hosted the Gillette Wild on Saturday night. The Icedogs were looking for revenge after taking a loss to the Wild Friday night. The Icedogs were all gas and no breaks as they took a 7-0 win over the Wild, splitting the weekend. In the first period, the Icedogs scored five goals credited to Jace Griffin, Andrew Kaunas, Lex Steckleberg (twice), and Alex Brello. The Icedogs took their 5-0 lead into the first intermission. In the second, the scoring pace slowed down, but the physicality increased. The Icedogs still found twine, scoring once at 7:15 on a goal by Sam Trufant to increase their lead to 6-0. In the third, the Wild upped the physicality to keep the Icedogs at bay, but the Icedogs would score one final goal with 1:30 left in the game, by Baron Masopust. The Icedogs got revenge on the Wild, taking this one 7-0 and splitting the weekend.
