Granite City Lumberjacks 1 @ Alexandria Blizzard 2
Alexandria earned a 2-1 overtime win over Granite City on Friday night, with the game ending with a power-play goal.
Alexandria opened the scoring in the first period from Caleb Waller, assisted by Jayden Serene, giving Alexandria an early lead.
Granite City answered in the second period as Alexander Zelazowski scored, set up by Michael Schmidt and Carter Oothoudt, tying the game at 1-1. The third period remained scoreless, forcing the game into overtime.
During overtime, Alexandria sealed the win with a power-play goal from Blake Breiland, assisted by Ethan Boughton and Caleb Waller, securing the 2-1 victory.
Willmar WarHawks 6 @ Mason City Toros 2
Willmar skated to a 6-2 win over Mason City on Friday night at Mason City Arena, using a strong first period to take control early.
Willmar opened the scoring late in the first period from Mikko Brown, assisted by Aiden Hogan and Aidan Callaghan. Wilmar added to their lead with a goal from Elliot Domagala, set up by Max Jackson and Logan Woods, before Timothy Vaculik capped off the three-goal frame with a power-play tally assisted by Carson Wendorff and Mason Wanka, giving Willmar a 3-0 lead after the first period.
In the second period, Carson Wendorff scored with help from Mason Wanka, and Kaiden Jackson followed later in the frame, finishing a play from Owen Amon to extend Willmar’s lead to 5-0.
Mason City got on the board in the third period with a pair of power-play goals. T.J. Gibson scored first, assisted by Michael Ertle and Luke Gustafson, before Kellen Kantaris added another with assists from Dom Despenas and Carter Bollinger. Willmar closed out the scoring when Mikko Brown scored his second goal of the night, assisted by Dylan Mees and Kaiden Jackson, sealing the 6-2 victory.
Rochester Grizzlies 5 @ Wausau Cyclones 1
Rochester earned a 5-1 road win over Wausau on Friday night at Marathon Park, building an early lead and keeping that pace throughout.
Rochester opened the scoring late in the first period with a power-play goal from Tevin Stukel, assisted by Ole Fevold and Julian Mollerstrom. Rochester added to their lead when Baylor Stebbins scored off assists from Konnor Goclan and Cooper Johnson, before Johnson followed up shortly after by scoring a goal of his own, assisted by Baylor Stebbins and Trenton Fore, giving Rochester a 3-0 lead after the first period.
Wausau got on the board early in the second period when Zachary Pagel scored, assisted by Eiji Hofmann and Brayden Ernst. Rochester responded later in the period with a goal from Andrew Bastian, set up by Mason Decker and Ole Fevold, restoring the three-goal advantage heading into the third.
In the final period, Rochester sealed the win with a power-play goal from Felix Wadstromer, assisted by Mason Decker and Trenton Fore, securing the 5-1 victory.
Minnesota Wilderness 3 @ Minnesota Moose 4
The Minnesota Moose rallied for a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wilderness on Friday night at Fogerty Ice Arena after falling behind early.
The Moose opened the scoring in the first period with Will Burnevik, assisted by Brady Johnson and George Daravingas. The Wilderness responded quickly with an unassisted goal from Owen Huneke, followed by Stratton Maas, who scored with help from Levi Flatley. The Wilderness added another before the end of the period as Tyler Starich netted a goal assisted by Wyatt Mineheine and Conner Barradale, giving the Wilderness a 3-1 lead after the first period.
The Moose began their comeback in the second period with a shorthanded goal from Luca Salak, assisted by Charlie Marchand, cutting the deficit to 3-2.
In the third period, The Moose tied the game when Mitchell Gawel scored with assists from Connor Zgoda and Gavin Jensen. The Moose secured the win when George Ericson netted the game-winning goal, assisted by Luca Salak and Mark Denoyer, achieving the 4-3 victory.
