Norwich 2 @ Maine 3 - The Maine Nordiques narrowly sunk the Norwich Sea Captains during Thursday's NA3 slate. In the first period, however, Jake Wilkerson opened the scoring within the first minute of play with a nifty little dangle move on Josef Simon. But two minutes later, the Nordiques responded and tied the score when Griffen Hardwick wristed one at the point on the power play. Fast forward seven minutes later and the Sea Captains went back on the board, as Trenton Impens grabbed the go-ahead lead after winning the puck battle from the boards and tucking one in. A game of back and forth, the Nordiques responded again when Gavin Gleghorn capitalized on the power play from another setup by Brody Emond. The middle frame was absent of scoring, but that changed in the third when Emond broke the tie and sealed the deal with a beauty just a minute into the frame. Peyton Dyer originally forechecked the puck from a Sea Captain in their backend and cross-ice fed Emond for him to bury the biscuit near the crease. Norwich outshot Maine 42-33 and played a tight offensive game, but couldn't generate any golden opportunities in their o-zone that Simon couldn't stop.
