Woodsmen forward Slasor makes college commitment

The Wisconsin Woodsmen of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Brandon Slasor has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for Northwood University.  

Slasor, 20, is in his second season with the Woodsmen of the Central Division and is closing out his junior career on a strong note. Through two seasons in Tomah, the future Northwood University Timberwolf, whose ACHA Division I program currently sits among the top 25 teams in the country, has appeared in 87 games, tallying 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists).

After posting 26 points in his rookie campaign, Slasor has already matched that total this season, and with seven games remaining on the schedule, he’s in prime position to surpass his previous mark.

This season, Slasor has recorded six multi-point performances and two game-winning goals. His most memorable winner came on November 21st in Rochester, when the Woodsmen faced off against the Grizzlies. In a thrilling overtime battle, the ‘05 forward played hero, scoring with 1:52 left in the extra session to send Wisconsin home with the victory.

For Woodsmen Head Coach Jon Vaillancourt, Slasor’s commitment is a testament to the work he’s put in day after day in Tomah:  “Committing to college is the next step in a journey of hard work and heart, both qualities Brandon has displayed in our program every day since his arrival. I am thrilled to watch him take the next step on his journey.”

Before making the jump to junior hockey, he developed in the NAPHL T1ER league, spending two seasons with Biggby at the 16U and 18U levels.

Slasor is one of three players from the Woodsmen to make a college commitment this season.
