Toros Captain Resch makes college commitment

The Mason City Toros of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Captain Stone Resch has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Jamestown.  

Resch, 21, has become a familiar face in the Mason City community, now skating in his third season with the Toros. Over 126 career games, the ‘05 forward has totaled 66 points (29 goals, 37 assists), serving as a steady offensive contributor throughout his tenure.

In his age-out season, Resch elevated his play on one of the biggest stages of the year, the NA3HL Showcase. He turned in back-to-back two-goal performances, beginning with a three-point outing against the Buzz. In that matchup, he found the back of the net in both the first and third periods and added an assist to cap off an impressive showing.

He carried that momentum into Mason City’s West vs. Frontier Division battle against the Americans. Once again rising to the occasion, Resch scored a powerplay goal to give the Toros a 2-1 lead before adding an insurance marker in the third period to help seal the victory.

Toros Head Coach Alex North praised Resch’s contributions and leadership during his time with the Toros: “I couldn’t be more proud of Stone. For three years in a Toros jersey, he’s been a steady presence and a leader our locker room could always count on. He’s left a lasting impact on this organization, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

Resch is one of three players from the Toros to make a college commitment this season.
