Irish Goaltender Drost Makes College Commitment

The Butte Irish of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that goaltender, Blake Drost, has committed to play ACHA Division II college hockey for Boise State University (Boise, Idaho).

The Boise, Idaho native has been with the Irish for one season. He played in 13 games during the 2025-26 season. In those games, Coldwell had a save percentage of .906. 

“Blake is going to do exceptionally well in Boise with the Broncos! He is a great teammate and person!” Said Irish head coach Marc Brodeur.

One of Drost’s best performances between the pipes came against the Yellowstone Quake on Feb. 13. In that game, Drost played the full 60 minutes and had 44 saves and a .978 save percentage, resulting in a 5-1 win over the Quake. He only allowed one goal during the game. 

Drost is one of four players from the Butte Irish to make a college commitment this season.
