3VIEW: Badlands Sabres

The 3View video series will feature an in-depth look into all NA3HL teams in preparation for the 2026-27 season, with one team being highlighted daily, leading all the way up until the start of the regular season on September 4th. 3View will include interviews with each team’s head coach, as they provide fans with their expectations and outlook for the 2026-27 season.

2025-26 season record: 23-19-3-2 (4th in Frontier Division)

2025-26 leading scorer: Dayton Niedert (30G 18A - 48 points)

2026 Playoffs: Eliminated in the Division Semi Finals by the Sheridan Hawks

2026-27 Division: Frontier Division

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

“Every single game here is a dogfight in the Frontier Division,” said Brooks Mitzel, head coach of the Sabres.

Mitzel discusses the respect he ingrains in his team in order to find success together. He is optimistic about the high level of competition the Sabres will face in the division and how the development model of the league is a big factor in his coaching style.
