3VIEW: West Texas Wranglers

The 3View video series will feature an in-depth look into all NA3HL teams in preparation for the 2026-27 season, with one team being highlighted daily, leading all the way up until the start of the regular season on September 4th. 3View will include interviews with each team’s head coach, as they provide fans with their expectations and outlook for the 2026-27 season. 

West Texas Wranglers

Head Coach: Gordon Bell (Entering 1st season)

2025-26 season record: 12-30-4-1 (5th in South Division)

The 2026-27 season brings a close knit affiliate relationship between the West Texas Wranglers and the Amarillo Wranglers of the North American Hockey League, a relationship head coach Gordon Bell believes will provide players with a direct pathway to advance to higher levels of hockey.

Bell enters the role following Austin Sutter’s departure to serve as head coach of the Amarillo Wranglers. With a history of playing professional hockey together, Bell believes the similar coaching philosophies will support a shared leadership between the organizations. 

“We understand that there is a person behind the player because we were those guys once too,” Bell explains about his coaching philosophy. “We find that if we can develop those guys into good young men, the hockey part kind of takes care of itself.”
