3VIEW: Willmar WarHawks

The 3View video series will feature an in-depth look into all NA3HL teams in preparation for the 2026-27 season, with one team being highlighted daily, leading all the way up until the start of the regular season on September 4th. 3View will include interviews with each team’s head coach, as they provide fans with their expectations and outlook for the 2026-27 season.

Head Coach: Joey Fodstad (Entering 1st season)

Location: Willmar, Minnesota

First-year head coach Joey Fodstad says he is “honored” to have been selected to lead the WarHawks into a new era of leadership. His coaching philosophy focuses on playing a fast, skilled and physical style of hockey, while remaining committed to developing players and helping them advance to higher levels of the game.

Fodstad also brings firsthand playing experience in the NA3HL. He says the league provided him with opportunities to develop both as a hockey player and a person.

“It’s a great place to develop,” he says about the league. “Every coach that I’ve had has been integral not only in my hockey career, but also in shaping me as a person.”
