The action-packed game saw Minnesota off to a flying start with Jace Kampsula netting the opening goal at 16:03 of the first period, assisted by Joey Gabardi and Marccus Anttila. Just over 14 minutes later, Anttila himself doubled the lead at 1:49, thanks to Tyler Balfe's assist. The second period saw Cory Backstrom extend Minnesota’s advantage to 3-0 at 5:02, with assists from Evan Brown and Ayden Althaus. Willmar's Elliot Domagala finally managed to break through Blake Belden's defenses, scoring at 15:54 of the third period, with assists from Aiden Hogan and Maddux Domagala. Wyatt Hauer of the WarHawks closed the game with a goal at 00:47, assisted by Connor Hadfield and Kyler Flanders.
Atlanta 6 @ Pelham 5 - In a thrilling showdown at the Pelham Civic Center, the Atlanta Capitals eked out a 6-5 victory over the Pelham Prowlers. The opening goal came at 15:03 of the first period, courtesy of William Hartle from the Prowlers. However, Atlanta's Jordan Janeway quickly turned the tide with a goal at 14:06, followed by another at 6:23, before Tyler Mason added to the Capitals' lead just seven seconds later. The second period saw Carsen Domarus of Pelham narrowing the gap at 8:36, but Isaiah Ronson extended Atlanta’s advantage at 3:38. The final period was a wild ride, with Hartle scoring twice at 18:52 and 9:32, bringing the Prowlers back into the game. Just under a minute later, Ronson struck again for Atlanta at 8:43. Domarus attempted to rally Pelham with a goal at 4:35, but it wasn’t enough to stave off defeat. Standout performances were aplenty. Hartle netted a hat-trick, and Domarus' two-goal effort kept the Prowlers competitive. Meanwhile, Janeway's hat-trick and Ronson's dynamic play were instrumental for Atlanta. Goalie Milo Pricinsky was a fortress with 58 saves for the Capitals, despite the high-scoring affair. In the end, Atlanta’s strategic plays and defensive prowess secured their first win of the season.
