Player Advancement
The NA3HL's primary focus is on advancing players to college hockey, and it stands out as the league with the most player movement to the NAHL. With over 35 alumni currently on NAHL rosters, the NA3HL demonstrates its effectiveness in developing talent and providing a solid pathway for aspiring hockey players to reach higher levels of competition, including Tier 2 and college hockey.
As part of the enhanced initiatives, all 35 NAHL teams are collaborating with NA3HL teams to improve player access. This includes allowing NA3HL players to practice with NAHL teams during the 2024-25 season. This program fosters greater communication between the leagues, helping to identify prospects and providing valuable in-season opportunities for NAHL experience and evaluation. It offers unique chances for player development that you won't find in any other USA Hockey-sanctioned junior leagues.
During the 2023-24 season, the NA3HL saw 170+ players make a college commitment between the NCAA and ACHA in addition to 300+ alumni playing NCAA DIII hockey. When looking at last year's freshman class across the nation, 13% of all first years were also NA3HL alumni.
