Flint Junior Generals 3 @ Toledo Cherokee 2 (SO): Anders Franke stopped 28 shots during the game and an additional four in the shootout to pull out a 3-2 shootout victory over the Toledo Cherokee. After a scoreless first period the Cherokee got on the board first with a goal from Xavier Sudlow. Flint answered back with two straight power play goals from Conor Durgan and Conner McGovern to take the lead into the final frame. Topeka Capitals 5 @ Dallas Jr. Stars 3: Topeka goaltender Jude Hull stood strong in net turning away 39 shots to power the Capitals to a 5-3 victory over the Dallas Jr. Stars. The Capitals scored the first goal of the game but goals from Jake Huspen and Corey Burns quickly gave the lead to the Jr. Stars going to the first intermission. In the middle frame it was Trenton Faber who provided all the offense scoring two goals to give Topeka a lead that it would not lose for the rest of the game. The third period saw teams trade goals and then Topeka put home an empty netter to solidify the win. Boxscore

Minnesota Flying Aces 2 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 3: Two late third period goals broke a 1-1 tie and the Granite City Lumberjacks pulled out a close one versus the Flying Aces 3-2. Aiden Verbeke scored the games first goal off an assist from Drew Otto to give the Lumberjacks an early lead. It wouldn’t take long for the Flying Aces to answer back as Vladimir Marchenko scored on the power play less than two minutes later to knot the game back at 1-1. The 2nd period was scoreless but was highlighted by a big save from Granite City goaltender Austin Wilson on Eric Cruickshank taking a penalty shot to keep the game tied. The Lumberjacks took over the game in the final frame with goals from Tim Brown and Brett Love to give Granite City a late two-goal lead. A Minnesota comeback was in the works when Anthony Martinez scored late for the Flying Aces but that is all the offense Austin Wilson would allow as he shut the door to secure the win. Boxscore

Alexandria Blizzard 3 @ Wisconsin Whalers 2: Alexandria goaltender Tanner Elmore continues his hot play stonewalling the Wisconsin Whalers and leading the Blizzard to a 3-2 victory. Elmore, who stopped 44 shots and handed the North Iowa Bulls their first loss in his last start, had another 40+ save game stopping 41 shots on the night including 16 in the first period to slow down the Whalers. Two second period goals from Aaron Ryback and Mick Dhein gave the Blizzard a lead and it was Elmore shutting the door from there on to get the win. Zack Johnson scored a goal with an extra attacker late for the Whalers but the combination of Elmore and three unanswered goals was all the Blizzard needed. Boxscore
