Saturday Scores: Steel hand Bulls rare loss

Twin City Steel 4 @ North Iowa Bulls 3: Jackson Germaine was brilliant in net and was crucial in handing the first place North Iowa Bulls a rare home loss as the Twin City Steel beat the Bulls by a score of 4-3. Germaine stopped 37 shots in net including 11 in the final period as North Iowa tried to tie the score up after being down by one to start the final frame. Twin City leading scorer Jace Childs scored two goals to lead the Steel offensively. The North Iowa Bulls received goals from Matt Kroska, Ian Penvose and Timothy Santopoalo. This was the first regulation loss at home for the North Iowa Bulls since February 3rd, 2012 when they lost to the St. Louis Jr. Blues by the same score. Boxscore
Cincinnati Swords 1 @ St. Louis Jr. Blues 4: Adam Roeder had a great day generating three points to lead the Jr. Blues to a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Swords. Roeder, who has already signed a tender with the NAHL Janesville Jets, assisted on the first goal of the game by Jiri Trubacik and then scored two more in the third period to ice the game for the Jr. Blues. Nicholas Riscossa scored the only goal for the Cincinnati Swords in the middle frame. Billy Hindle stopped 22 shots to pick up the victory in net. Boxscore
Sugar Land Imperials 4 @ Topeka Capitals 7: The Topeka Capitals overcame an early deficit to defeat the Sugar Land Imperials 7-4. Yu Hikosaka continues his point streak scoring a hat trick and adding two more assists to increase his point total to 41 over an 18 game span. Cole Sharrah and Wayne Hubley both had two points for the Imperials in the defeat. Mike McElroy picked up the victory in net for the Capitals stopping 19 Sugar Land shots. Boxscore
