Sunday Wrap-Up: Swords get road sweep in Battle Creek

Pittsburgh 1 @ Cleveland 5 – Behind and effective power play, Cleveland turned the tables on the Vengeance with a 5-1 win to salvage a weekend split. Stefan Horgas had two goals and Jared Johnson, Alex Buban and Matt Wipper also scored for Cleveland. Cody Black had the lone goal for Pittsburgh, which came on a power play. Cleveland goalie Joe Moza made 27 saves in the win. Boxscore

Cincinnati 7 @ Battle Creek 2 – Cincinnati fired 60 shots on goal to beat Battle Creek 7-2 to complete a weekend road sweep. Aaron Storch had a goal and three assists to pace the Swords. Tanner Bennett and Luke McCammant each scored twice and Hunter Schneider and Nicholas Riscossa also added goals for Cincinnati. Alex Olsen and Derek Dodge scored the Battle Creek goals. Boxscore

Toledo 2 @ Metro 3 (SO) – The Jets fired 42 shots on goal, but it took a shootout to beat the Cherokee and earn a weekend split. Alex Holm scored in regulation and had the only shootout goal for the Jets. Nathan Phillips had the other goal for Metro, while David Bogart and Dominic Antonelli scored for Toledo. Clay Horvath made 39 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Dallas 6 @ Sugar Land 5 – In another wild and close game, Dallas got a four-point game from Tommy Stock to beat the Imperials on Sunday to complete a weekend sweep. Stock had two goals and Cam Choate, Brandon Salisbury, Rutger Kesling and Colin South also scored for Dallas. Wayne Hubley had a hat-trick for Sugar Land and Cole Sharrah and Yves Bader also scored. Flint 3 @ Michigan 0 – Flint outshot the Mountain Cats 56-19 on their way to a 3-0 shutout. Brett Leppek had a 1st period goal and Conor Durgan and Josh Koepplinger had 2nd period goals for the Junior Generals. Kevin O’Shea made 53 saves in the loss, while Andrew Wagner earned the shutout, making 19 saves. Boxscore
