Blizzard forward Ryback signs NAHL tender
January 23, 2014
The Alexandria Blizzard, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), are pleased to announce that forward Aaron Ryback has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Brookings Blizzard. Brookings competes in the NAHL’s Central Division.
Ryback, 18, is in his first season with Alexandria in the NA3HL. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has had an impressive rookie season to date, recording 39 points in 35 games played. That includes 21 goals and 18 assists for the 6’1/195 lbs. Ryback.
Ryback has recorded 10 points in his last four games, which includes eight goals.
Prior to this season, Ryback spent last season playing in Canada for the Lundar Falcons and the Winnipeg Blues.
Ryback is the fourth NA3HL to sign an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 3, 2014.
