Weekend Wrap-Up: Peoria win gives Mustangs the Central title

Cincinnati 4 @ Peoria 7 - After a scoreless 1st period, Peoria started off the scoring with a goal from Andrew Scofield in the 2nd. Cincinnati followed with 2 goals from Aaron Storch and RJ Marshall. Before the period was over Peoria put two more up from Sam Turner and Brennan Anderson. Again Peoria started the scoring off in the 3rd with a short handed goal from Gevers and a goal from Armstrong. Cincinnati countered with two more goals from Storch and Halbach. Peoria finished with a goal from Wisely and an empty netter from Scofield. Jarin Aden gets the win with 37 saves. Boxscore

Topeka 7 @ Sugar Land 1 -  Drake Deberry started the scoring off with the lone goal in the 1st period for the Capitals. Getting the assist on the goal was Kole Hudson. It was all Capitals in the 2nd with a goal from Alex Sauer and two goals from Dante Juris. Sugar Land managed to get on the board with a power play goal from Aksel Campbell, with an assist from Matthew Winkle in the 3rd. But the Capitals tacked on another three, one from Alex Sauer and two from Georgy Ostapchuk. Hayden Smith gets the win in net with 21 saves.  Boxscore

Chicago 2 @ St. Louis 5 - We had a nice attendance of 307 at tonight’s game. Billy Hindle got the win in net for St. Louis with 31 saves. The game remained scoreless in the 1st, but St. Louis struck first in the 2nd with two goals from Simon Koscielski. Before the period was over the Blues got a third from Wingbermuehle, with assists from Opilka and Maddox. In the 3rd period the Blues put two more on the board from Heinzman and Kovacich. Chicago as well put up two goals from Foley and Taurins. Boxscore

Battle Creek 1 @ Wisconsin 8 - The 1st period was all Wisconsin in this one, With goals coming from Zack Johnson, Kaleb Morley, Connor Morgan, and Kevin Stone. In the 2nd, Battle Creek managed to put one up on the board with a goal from Derek Dodge, assisted by Trevor Carey and Michael Schmitt. Wisconsin added another four goals in the 2nd from Kaleb Morley, Zack Johnson, Alex Anderson, and Zack Johnson again. Giving him his third of the night for a hat trick. The 3rd period remained scoreless. David Volkmann gets the win with 14 saves. Boxscore

Michigan 0 @ Cleveland 6 - Joseph Moza gets the shutout for Cleveland with 12 saves. It was a one sided game with all goals coming from Cleveland. In the 1st, Jared Johnson gets the goal with an assist from Moza. In the 2nd, Mike Palasics gets the goal with assists from Matt Wipper and Troy MacMullan. In the 3rd, Cleveland tacks on another four with two goals from Tyler Dalton. The other two goals came from Troy MacMullan and Stefan Horgas. Boxscore

Granite City 1 @ North Iowa 7 - There was a big attendance in tonight’s game with 1,057 on hand. The Bulls got on the board quickly with a goal 24 seconds into the game from Rihards Marenis. The Bulls proceeded to add on another four in the 1st with goals from Matt Kroska, Tim Santopoalo, Brandon Anderson, and another from Matt Kroska. The 2nd period concluded with one short handed goal from Austin Jackson with an assist from Cameron Brown. In the 3rd the Bulls scored on a power play goal from Brandon Anderson. Granite City managed to get on the board with a goal from Taylor Brown. Jordan Moran gets the win with 32 saves in net. Boxscore
