Friday Finals: Toledo stays perfect with win

Wisconsin 5 @ West Michigan 3 – West Michigan started the scoring off in the 1st period with a goal from Devin Farkas. Josh Somers got the second goal for the Wolves shortly after with an assist from Isaiah Crawford. Wisconsin countered with a goal from Kaleb Morley to get their first goal of the night. Mike Difranco added a third goal for the Wolves before the period was over along with Wisconsin’s Joe Perrelle keeping the game at 3-2. In the 2nd, Wisconsin got two power play goals, coming from Alex Anderson and Dan Addie. In the 3rd, Peter Henderson put one more on the board from Wisconsin putting the final score at 5-3. David Volkmann got the save in net with 27 saves. Boxscore

Toledo 4 @ Metro 1 – Toledo gets the win tonight with a four to one victory over the Metro Jets. Dominic Pisanti gets the scoring started off for the Toledo Cherokee on the power play with an assist from Howell and Schwartz. In the 2nd, Cam Schwartz gets a goal early on in the period to put Toledo up 2-0. Aaron Roschinksy gets the third goal for Toledo with an assist from Estrel and Omey. Metro gets their lone goal on the night late in the 2nd period, Jason Newel scores with an assist from Kyle Shreve. In the 3rd, Toledo puts the game away with a goal from Michael Pisanti. Aaron Callan gets the win in net with 24 saves.  Boxscore

Sugar Land 2 @ Texas 6 – The South Division gets their season started off tonight with a game between Sugar Land and Texas. With the lone goal late in the 1st period, Texas gets on the board first with the goal coming from Paolo DiGenova. In the 2nd it was a back and forth game. Texas scores first again with the goal coming from Mykyta Sheptytsky. Sugar Land gets their first goal of the night coming from Drew Waetjen. Texas grabs 2 more points with goals coming from Sheptytsky and Anthony Koslow. Sugar Land counters by adding another goal from Ryan James. In the 3rd period, Sheptytsky gets his 3rd goal of the night for a hat trick. Zac Flachman finishes out the game for Texas to put the game at 6-2.  Joe Hacker gets the win in net with 30 saves.
