Friday Finals: Bighorns debut in NA3HL with big win

Glacier 0 @ Helena 10 – This game was all Helena in this Frontier Division showdown. In the first period, Helena put up three goals coming from Cody Vanthournout, Matt Blassic, and Justin Provencher. In the second period, Helena added on four goals coming from Justin Orovencher, Matt Mohar, Logan Hulse, and Nick Trefry. In the third, Helena added on three more with goals from Elliot Hopkins, Cody Vanthournout for his second of the night, and Justin Provencher. Grant Martens gets the shutout and win in net with 20 saves. Boxscore

Nashville 4 @ Topeka 3 – Nashville takes the win over Topeka, four to three. The Jr. Predators got on the board first with a goal from Trent Kulczyk. Getting the assist on the play was Jacob Lainesse. Topeka countered shortly after with a goal from Alex Sauer and the assist from Dylan Wattles. In the second period, Nashville went back on top with a goal from Kyle Van Wyk on the power play. In the 3rd period, Nashvile grabs another goal from Trent Kulczyk. Topeka gets back in the game with 2 goals in the second half of the period coming from Colton Sprenger and Hank Roers. Jacov Lainesse gets the game winning goal for Nashville in the shootout. Justin Ball gets the win in net with 34 saves. Boxscore

Cleveland 3 @ Toledo 0 – Alec Rounds gets the win along with a shutout in tonight’s game with 48 saves. Tyler Dalton gets the first goal for Cleveland with assists from Adam Schaffer and Craig Jarzen. In the second period, John Barlow gets a power play goal for Cleveland to go up 2-0. Getting the assists on the play were Tyler Dalton and Avery Huibregtse. In the third period, John Barlow gets his second goal of the evening with another assist from Tyler Dalton and Also Patrick Briggs.  Boxscore

Minnesota 6 @ Twin City 7 – The Twin City Steel get the win in tonight’s game with a shoot out goal from Mikko Aho. In the 1st period, Minnesota grabs four goals coming from Tyler Leverty, Jake Mullendore, and two from AJ Gullickson. The Steel gets one goal from Mikko Aho. In the 2nd period, the Steel come back with four goals from David Becker getting two, Mikko Aho, and Jordan Pitlick. Minnesota gets a power play goal from Victor Lombardi. In the 3rd, the Steel go up early with a goal from Russel Barone but Minnesota counters halfway though the period with a goal from Isak Larson to tie it up. There was no scoring in overtime. Robbiei Goor gets the win in net with 18 saves. Boxscore

Breezy Point 0 @ Granite City 6 – There was no scoring in the first period. In the second period, David Kenney gets the first goal for Granite City with the assist coming from Mitchell Gwost. Granite City tacks on another two goals in the second from Alek Groth and Jared Sprink. In the third period, Granite City put up three power play goals coming from Luke Richardson, Blake Phenow, and Blake Babineau. Kendall Meyer got the win in net with 12 saves. Boxscore

Yellowstone 3 @ Billings 6 – Billings takes the W in tonight’s game six to three. Yellowstone got out to an early lead with a goal from John Scherer. Shortly after, Yellowstone put up a second goal from Brandon Blaszczyk. Billings put up its first point of the night on a power play goal from Ian Eshbaugh. Before the period was over, Yellowstone tacked on one more from Sean Pilet before the period was over. In the second, Billings added 2 more goals from Reed Kaiser and Nick Rizzo. In the 3rd, Billings added another three goals from Matt Myers and two from Tristan Henrichs. Cole Semchak got the win in net with 27 saves. Boxscore

Dallas 4 @ Texas 5 – Texas started off the scoring in the first period with a short-handed goal from Thomas Puetz. Dallas gets on the board shortly after with a power play goal from Josig Rochon. In the second period, Dallas goes on top with a goal from Blake Blundred. Texas counters with 3 goals coming from Mykyta Sheptytsky, Dixon Whitehead, and Zach McPherson. Dallas adds one more before the end of the period by Jake Fernow. In the 3rd period, Dallas adds their 4th goal of the night from Kody Wagner but Texas comes back a minute later with a goal from Paolo DiGenova to take the win. Quinton Reynolds gets the win in net with 15 saves.  Boxscore
