Syracuse captain Perron makes NCAA commitment

The Syracuse Stampede of the NA3EHL are proud to announce the commitment of their captain Xavier Perron to Utica College for the 2015-16 season. Utica is an NCAA Division III program that competes in the ECAC West conference. Perron, the 20-year-old captain of the Stampede, was offered and accepted to attend Utica as of this morning by UC Pioneers Head Coach Gary Heenan.
"We are excited to have Xavier join the UC Hockey family for next year. After seeing Xavier play this past weekend we are impressed with his skating, size and compete level. Playing for Coach Beavis this season will allow him to improve in all areas of the game and he will gain valuable leadership experience as captain of this young team," said UC Coach Heenan in a quoted release.
To date, Perron (6’1/175) ranks 2nd on the team in scoring with 20 points in 20 games played. He has 9 goals and 11 assists and two game-winning goals so far this season.
Utica College is one of the top NCAA Division III programs in the country an plays in the ECAC West. The Stampede feel that this was a great fit for Xavier both academically and with coach Heenan's teams style of play.
