Gongshow Flow of the Month winner for November announced
There are a couple times a year that have the distinction of being called the most wonderful time of the year. For Christmas fans, it is in late December. For football fans, it is the first Sunday in February. However, for male hair enthusiasts that play hockey, it is either in November or during the playoffs.
With that said, the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) announced its Gongshow Flow of the Month winner for November 2014.
The winner this month is Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks goalie Alec Rounds.
Rounds, 20, is in his third season playing in the NA3HL and first with Cleveland. He previously played two years in Cincinnati for the Swords/Steam.
This season, the native of Laguna Beach, California is enjoying his best career season. Despite a 7-7-2 record, Rounds (6’2/187) has a 2.65 goals against average and a sparkling 92.4% save percentage. His three shutouts to date rank him tied for 2nd in the NA3HL.
However, it is Rounds’ flow and facial features that makes him one of the candidates for one of the biggest landslide victories in the four-year history of Flow of the Month. What is not to like about EVERYTHING that Rounds has going on in his picture.
First in the flow… we normally see a lot of ‘hockey hair’ submissions with a handful of mullets, feathered domes and greased back hair. However, this may be the first time in Flow of the Month history that we honor what appears to be the dreadlocks/braids/cornrows. A wonderful look that reminds of a combination of Zach de la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine and Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz.
Rounds compliments his hair with a nice thin, but visible mustache that is pefect for the Movember campaign.
Lastly, he tops it off with a beard that is full and plentiful. One can only imagine the amount of itching and discomfort one feels with a beard of that magnitude underneath a goalie mask, but for Rounds it apparently isn’t a problem.
It is a combination worthy of one of the best Flow of the Month combinations we have ever seen in the NA3HL. Way to go Alec, and for that you will receive a Gongshow Gear hat!
