Toledo goalie Callan earns call to the NAHL

December 11, 2014
The Toledo Cherokee of the NA3HL are proud to announce that goaltender Aaron Callan has been called up to the Michigan Warriors of the NAHL.

The Warriors compete in the North division of the NAHL and play their games at Perani Arena in Flint, MI.

The South Lyon, MI native was one of two goalies in the line-up for the Warriors in last night's 4-3 shootout loss against the Soo Eagles. Former NA3HL and NAPHL goalie Hunter Vorva, who started the season with the West Michigan Wolves in the NA3HL, made the start.

It is a testament to in-season player movement for the NA3HL, as both goalies now playing for the Warriors both started the season in the NA3HL.

Callan has helped guide the Cherokee to a 16-5-3 record good for 2nd place in the NA3HL East division and has appeared in 14 games earning a record of 8-3-1-2 with a 1.98 GAA and a .926 save percentage.

Callan was named the NA3HL Goaltender of the Month back in September.

“This is a great opportunity for Aaron, it shows that his hard work is paying off. As an organization it is our goal to move players to the next level,” said Toledo head coach Kenny Miller. “He has been one our best players so far this year. He competes all the time, not just in games. He controls his rebounds very well and he is giving our team a chance to win and coming up with a big save when needed,” said Miller.
