Weekend Wrap-Up: New England has big weekend

New Hampshire 5 vs. Maine 2 - Ryan Dunfield had two points to lead New Hampshire to a 5-2 victory over Maine. New Hampshire's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Maine power plays. New Hampshire kept Maine's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lucas Osborne made 37 saves on 42 shots.
New Hampshire additionally got points from Brett Bittner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. New Hampshire also got a goal from Mike Callaghan as well. In addition, New Hampshire received assists from Alex Peddle, who had two. New Hampshire was unable to stop Maine from sending pucks towards the net, and Maine eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Maine was helped by Taylor Zion, who registered one goal. Zion scored 3:21 into the third period to make the score 4-2 New Hampshire. Matt Henderson picked up the assist. New England was led by Henrik Nilsson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Nilsson scored 3:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New England. Crocker picked up the assist. New England also got points from Crocker, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ryan Gauvin also scored for New England. Cape Cod managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Cape Cod finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Lockport 3 vs. Roc City 2 (SO) - Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Lockport defeated Roc City in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed 10 turns to complete the shootout. Roc City's shootout goal was scored by Anthony DePetres. Lockport's other shootout goal was scored by Anthony Merante. Lockport overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lockport was down 2-1 after a goal by Roc City's John Papas at 1:26 in the second period. Lockport tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Dillon Hayes at 19:12 in the third period. Hayes had two goals to lead Lockport to victory. Lockport put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Roc City to score on any of its five power plays. Lockport's offense operated below its season average. Lockport puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. Lockport forced Roc City goalie Ian Stahl to work between the pipes, taking 66 shots. In addition, Lockport received assists from Ryan Logar, who had one. Maine 5 vs. East Coast 2 - Drew Sommerhof had two goals to lead Maine to a 5-2 victory over East Coast. Sommerhof scored at 13:09 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Maine and again while 18:48 into the second to make the score 5-0 Maine. Maine's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three East Coast power plays. Maine kept East Coast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Travis Spangle made 43 saves on 48 shots. Maine also had goals scored by Noel Fischer, Ben Henderson, and Corey Wright, who scored one goal each. More assists for Maine came via Zach Gagne, Ignat Molchanov, Matt Henderson, and Jake Dickson, who contributed one each. East Coast excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. East Coast was led by Matt Bauchman, who registered two goals. Bauchman scored the first of his two goals at 1:56 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Maine. Robert Gravallese picked up the assist. Bauchman's next tally made the score 5-2 Maine with 13:48 left in the third period. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Michael Bellmore, who had one. Justin Broy made three saves before being replaced by Jon Fields, who took the win and made 22 saves. Maine incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Syracuse 4 vs. Lockport 1 - Syracuse had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over Lockport. Syracuse's Ludvig Kullen Dansarie was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 39 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Kullen Dansarie will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.28. Lockport's power play was ineffective against Syracuse's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Syracuse excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.
