Twin City defenseman Plazcz makes NCAA commitment

April 16, 2015
The Twin City Steel, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Jon Plaszcz (Apple Valley, MN) has committed to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Stout is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)

“I have had the pleasure of getting to watch Jon grow on and off the ice over the past two seasons,” said Steel General Manager Bryant Black. “His focus and determination to improve as a hockey player are what created this opportunity for himself.”

Plaszcz during the 2015-16 campaign registered 10 goals, 16 assists despite only playing in 35 games over the course of the season.

The 6-0, 190 pound product of Apple Valley, MN started his junior career playing with the Breezy Point North Stars, but a late trade in the 2013-14 season put him on the Steel roster.

"The first time we played against Jon we knew he had something special. He had the ability to go end-to-end and become an offensive threat at any point during the game." Said Steel GM Bryant Black "I am excited that he is only an hour down the road, because as a player he is certainly exciting to watch."

In 81 games Plaszcz recorded 22-24-46 with 401 PIM.  He also was selected at played in the 2013 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for Team Minnesota.
