Nashville forward Mammel makes college commitment
June 18, 2015
The Nashville Jr. Predators of the NA3HL have announced that forward Nick Mammel will be attending and playing hockey for ACHA Division I Robert Morris University (Illinois).
Mammel, from Midland, Michigan, is a 6'4/216 lbs. right hand shot who scored 18 goals to go with 13 assists and 31 points for the Predators during the 2014-14 regular season. Moving between right wing and center, Mammel was a valuable part of the Preds' impressive run to the Silver Cup playoffs and the South Division regular season and playoff titles.
"Nick brings a dimension to our team we thought we were lacking," said Hockey Director Tom Wendlandt. "His size is obvious and will be valuable to us for sure, but he's also a smart player who can play multiple forward positions."
With the commitment, RMU continues their tradition of mining the NA3HL for talent. Mammel is the 6th player from the league who've committed to RMU for the Fall '15 academic year.
