Friday Finals: Lockport hands Aviators first loss

Lockport handed the New York Aviators their first loss on Friday, while Roc City beat Syracuse

 Syracuse 3 @ Roc City 5 - The game between Roc City and Syracuse was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Roc City emerged with a 5-3 win. Roc City gained the winning advantage on a goal by Sam Cammilleri 4:50 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Roc City got the win thanks to a great game by Anthony DePetres, who had one goal and two assists. DePetres scored 5:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Roc City. Aiden Conolly picked up the assist. Roc City kept Syracuse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Scheide made 38 saves on 43 shots.  Roc City also got points from Mike Elliott, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cammilleri, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Roc City also had goals scored by Cameron Clark and Zach Bucholz, who each put in one. In addition, Roc City received assists from Joseph Gardner, who had two and Jared Tam-Grimshaw and Bryan Moscicki, who contributed one each. Syracuse was helped by Ludovic Scott, who registered one goal. Scott scored 6:19 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Raymond Falso provided the assist. Syracuse additionally got points from Nicholas Sanborn, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Rocco DeRollo also scored for Syracuse. Other players who recorded assists for Syracuse were Josh Wallace, who had two and Tucker Bartenslager and Jag Masters, who each chipped in one. Justin Nevinger rejected 23 shots on goal for Roc City.

New York 3 @ Lockport 4 - Lockport and New York were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Lockport made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Christopher Gasiewicz's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Lockport was led by Gasiewicz, who grabbed one goal. Gasiewicz scored 17:59 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lockport. Ryan Logar picked up the assist. Lockport additionally got points from Gibson Stuart, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lockport also had goals scored by Jordan Pocobello and Mark Friol, who each put in one. New York was helped by Ricky Regala, who tallied one goal. Regala scored 18:29 into the second period to make the score 3-2 New York. Jimmy Warrick provided the assist. New York also got points from Warrick, who also registered one goal and one assist. Robert Kalata also scored for New York. More assists for New York came via Sam Shaheen, who had two and Daniel Backstrom, who had three. Tim Schiess made 26 saves for Lockport on 29 shots.
