Southern Tier forward Carlson signs NAHL tender
November 11, 2015
The Southern Tier Xpress, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Curtis Carlson has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.
Carlson, 18, is the first NA3HL player this season to have signed an NAHL tender.
This is Carlson’s second season playing in the NA3HL for the Xpress. The native of Lakewood, New York, began the season in the NAHL, where he played in five regular season games for the Knights, which included all four games at the NAHL Showcase.
Carlson (6’0/170) then rejoined the Xpress later this season and has recorded 12 points in 12 games played. He recently had a five-game point streak snapped that stretched from October 23rd to November 7th.
Last season, Carlson played in 35 games for Southern Tier in the NA3HL and recorded 19 points. In 47 career NA3HL games, Carlson has 31 points.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
