NA3HL asks for assistance and prayers for former player Lay

November 23, 2015
Former NA3HL player Andy Lay, who played in the league for the Flint Jr. Generals for three seasons, was severely injured over the weekend and the league and Lay’s family is asking for your help.

Lay played for the Flint Jr. Generals in the NA3HL from 2010-13 and was a standout player for the Generals, recording 173 career points in just 120 career NA3HL regular season games.

Lay is currently competing in his third season of college hockey with the University of Michigan-Flint, who are members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division III.

The following is from the GoFundMe page that has been established for Andy. We ask the NA3HL family to please consider helping during this difficult time.

On behalf of Andy Lay's friends and family within the tight-knit hockey community, we are raising money to help pay medical bills for Andy.

On November 20th, Andy was playing hockey and went into the boards head first, without having a chance to get his arms out front to brace or cushion the impact.

Andy was in surgery all day today to repair injuries to multiple vertebrates in his neck.  Although not paralyzed, we are all hoping and praying for Andy's complete recovery, with no sensory and/or movement deficits.

Your help would be greatly appreciated to support one of our own.....and we are thankful to each and every donator!!

We will post updates on Andy's condition as they become available.

Please keep Andy in your thoughts and prayers...
