Wooster trio make NCAA commitments

February 29, 2016
The Wooster Oilers, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that three players have made their college commitments known.

Forwards Noah Keener, Brandon Scholze and Christian Miller have all committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Stevenson University. Stevenson University will add Men’s Ice Hockey as its 27th NCAA DIII Sport as the team will begin play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West division beginning in the 2016-17 season.

Keener, 20, is finishing his second and final season playing in the NA3HL. The native of Clarksville, TN, was traded to Wooster from the West Michigan Wolves back in late January.  He began the season playing for the Nashville Jr. Predators. Keener (6’2/173) has played in 12 games with the Oilers and record eight points. During the 2015-16 season, Keener has played in 35 games overall and recorded 19 points.  He spent the 2014-15 season with the Jr. Predators where he had 16 points in 38 games played.

Scholze, 20, is in his final season of playing for the Oilers in the NA3HL.  Previously, the native of New Kensington, PA, had played with the Oilers during both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons when they were a part of the MNJHL. This season, Scholze (5’11/175) has recorded 15 points in 30 games played.

Miller, 19, is in his first season playing in the NA3HL for the Oilers.  The 5’10/185 lbs. native of Kittanning, PA, has recorded 23 points in 41 games played and his 15 goals ranks tied for 2nd on the Oilers roster.
