April 11, 2016
The Jersey Shore Wildcats, proud members of the NA3HL (and formerly the NA3EHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jared Karas has committed to play NCAA hockey at Lebanon Valley College for next year. Lebanon Valley College, located in Annville, PA, will be playing Men's Ice Hockey in NCAA Division III in the ECAC West.
Through 41 games during the 2015-16 season, Jared accumulated 33 Goals and 46 Assists for 79 Points. His ability to create offense and make plays has also been evident on the Power Play, with 20 of his points coming with the man advantage. As a rookie for the Wildcats Jared was named one of the team's Assistant Captains. He was also named to the NA3EHL West All-Star team that competed in the Blaine Showcase in December.
Coach Don Parsons of Lebanon Valley had this to say about Jared, "We are happy to have a kid like Jared as a student athlete here at Lebanon Valley College. I have been very impressed with his skill level, his vision on the ice and overall hockey IQ. We expect him to come in a be a top 2 line player and contribute right away."
Head Coach of the Wildcats Eric Brule also had a few words regarding Jared's progression and development this season, "Since Day 1, Jared's commitment to his teammates and his personal development has been outstanding. Jared recognized that his skill alone would not help him achieve his goal of playing Division III hockey. With the great support of his teammates, and his constant effort on the ice, in the gym, and around his teammates, he has developed into the person and player he is today. The most important thing for Jared now is to continue that development and stick to the system and structure we have been working to put into to place for all of our players, so he will be able to step into collegiate hockey next season and have immediate success."
