April 14, 2016
The Twin City Steel, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Paul Stehr has committed to play NCAA hockey at St. Olaf College.
St. Olaf College is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division III and is a proud member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
“Paul is a very hard worker both on and off the ice,” said Steel General Manager Bryant Black. “His focus and determination to improve as a hockey player are what created this opportunity for himself.”
Stehr, 20, was a standout on the blue line for the Steel this season. In 45 games Stehr had 31 points and a whopping +44 which was good enough for a Steel record.
The Forest Lake, MN, native also was selected to and played in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the West Division team.
When asked how about Stehr's commitment, St.Olaf Head Coach Goldsworthy stated, "We are excited about Paul's commitment to St. Olaf College. He has proved himself to be a top NA3HL defenseman and that should translate well to the next level."
In addition, Sther was just named to the NA3HL All-West Division 1st team and was also named to the 2016 NA3HL Silver Cup All-Tournament Team.
Paul Stehr is the 3rd official commit of the 2015-16 season for the Twin City Steel to the NCAA joining Jay Paul and Joe Costello.
