North Iowa defenseman Nichols makes college commitment

The North Iowa Bulls, proud members of the NA3HL, are happy to announce that defenseman Alec Nichols has made his collegiate decision.  

 

Nichols, 20, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa has selected McKendree University to continue his playing and academic development.  McKendree University is an ACHA DIII program that is trending towards ACHA D1 status.  

 

On a team that often dominates offensively, Nichols was a model of consistency defensively.  Alec was third on the North Iowa Bulls roster at +54.  

 

“When you look at Alec's stats the +/- jumps out at you, and they should.  He was one of our most responsible defensemen and his plus/minus proved it,” said Bulls head coach Todd Sanden.

 

Often used in shut down situations and on the penalty kill, Alec provided that no nonsense style that made him effective for the Bulls.  The North Iowa Bulls wish Alec the best as he moves on to McKendree University.
