April 15, 2016
The La Crosse Freeze, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Reid Brown has made his NCAA commitment to play hockey at Gustavus Adolphus college in St. Peter, MN. Gustavus Adolphus is an NCAA Division III program that competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Superior, Colorado joined the Freeze in mid-January after playing in the USPHL the first half of the season. He played in the latter part of the season competing in 14 games and recording one goal and nine assists.
Browns' biggest game came in the March 6th contest against the Wisconsin Whalers. With home-ice advantage on the line he scored his first goal - as well as his ninth assist - in a Freeze uniform and the team went on to take 2nd place in the Central Division. Brown then competed hard in the 2016 Silver Cup Playoffs recording two goals and one assist in four games.
Head coach Ryan Egan was excited with the success and hard work Brown brought to the Freeze organization. "I am extremely excited for Reid and his commitment to Gustavus Adolphus College. Reid was an integral part of our teams success the second half of the season. Coach Peterson and Gustavus will be proud to call Reid a Golden Gustie."
Brown will be the 2nd Freeze player suiting up for the Golden Gustie's next season, joining defenseman Jared Bromberg who made his commitment to Gustavus Adolphus in March.
