The Atlanta Capitals of the NA3HL are proud to announce that Defensemen Drew Kelly has committed to play NCAA hockey at Stevenson University next season.
Stevenson University is entering their first season of competition at the NCAA Division III level. They will play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West division starting during the 2016-2017 season.
The Somerset, Wisconsin native played for both the Topeka and Atlanta Capitals during his two years spent in the NA3HL. He made the transition to Atlanta and enjoyed the experience of living in the south. “Atlanta is a great place, the gym with seeing famous people and the arena, it was just an overall experience I will never forget,” said Kelly.
Kelly amassed in two seasons with the Capitals 37 points in 84 career games and a plus 65. “Drew is a player, he has been so solid for us these past two season that it will be hard to replace him in the coming years. He’s an upstanding person first and foremost and we look forward to watching him thrive at the collegiate level,” said Head Coach Anthony Bohn.
Kelly becomes the second college commitment so far for the Capitals. He joins Captain Kyle Rimbach, who will attending St.Olaf in the fall.
